The Mummy Hangover.

Oh god.  Ohhhhhhhhhh god.  This is bad.  This is really, reaalllly bad.

Beta Mummy likes a drink, there’s no denying it.  A little large glass of wine at the end of the day (or even in the middle of the day, to be fair) is usually a must – let’s face it, it’s well-deserved after a day toddler-wrangling.  However, even Beta Mum knows that it’s not a good idea to over-indulge in “Mummy’s special juice”, because these days it doesn’t take much to incite the mother-of-all-hangovers.  And these days a hangover doesn’t mean lying in bed until midday, followed by a huge greasy fry-up, Saturday Kitchen and a possible hair of the dog pint later on.  Oh no no no.

The rare Mums’ Night Out, whilst undeniably fun and absolutely to make the most of, inevitably leads to next-day feelings of regret, pain and full-body misery:

Doodle showing hungover Mum collapsed on sofa, a toddler on the potty, another toddler having a very loud tantrum, and Peppa Pig on TV. The room is a state, and Mum regrets last night...

Be warned, Beta Mummies.  (Or at least bloody well make sure your night out is worth it…!)

Haha! I am dying after one glass of wine these days… I don’t know how I would ever cope having a drink, and having children! It sounds like my worst nightmare! 😂
Your old text descriptions are bloody brilliant! I got a fantastic visual image of what was going on! Thank you so much! 😚😺 Big hugs and #TribalLove to you xxxx

Lol! I most certainly could NOT handle a night out unless J was spending the following day… or two! at Nana’s! Although I would definitely have Peppa on repeat to save me from having to move much. This may work for half an hour! Ouch! #triballove

Crying with laughter at this – “Fucking peppa pig” ha ha ha!!! I haven’t had a proper hangover since having Josh and I really don’t want to experience one!! But I love the prosecco – what can I do! It’s a saviour in a fancy bottle! But I’m so glad you had a good night out honey – we bloody need it sometimes xx #triballove

Fucking Peppa Pig! I hate her. She mocks me. I wish mummy pig would tell little Peppa to shut the hell up and go to her room, and the rest of the episode would be mummy pig pottering round being quiet. That would be a good hangover episode wouldn’t it? Haha!

Actually, I’m a fraud. Haven’t had a night out in forever and when I have wine I have to stop at two glasses otherwise I’d be running down the street with a nappy on my head!

    Lu xx

Hahaha yes. The reality is that it’s not fuckinng funny. ; ) When you are hungover with kids it is literally THE worst. Although I’ve only experienced it with my son who is still a baby, but I can appreciate how annoying Peppa Pig would be! The day I was hungover, I quite literally died, apart of me was left on that day.

Hahaha. Glad you had fun. I get real killer hangovers, I’ve only had minor ones since having TM and luckily my husband has been around to take pity on me and help me survive them. If I get one of the real monster ones I genuinely don’t know how I would look after the baby though as I puke all day and (hmmm, hope Dr Claudia doesn’t read this haha) am 100% useless. #triballove

Love this line ‘A little large glass of wine at the end of the day (or even in the middle of the day, to be fair)’!!! oh we’ve all been there! Oh and the clock at 6:05 – OMG this makes me never ever want to drink again – horrific pain and ordeal. Of course Alpha Mummy doesn’t drink but she’s not got any fun in her bones – don’t you go changing lovely #chucklemums

Oh God I feel your pain! What is it with bloody cheerios and why must they adorn my entire carpet at all times?? And wiping toddler arse is not pleasant at the best of times. I can change nappies all day long but when I’m summoned upstairs to find the eldest very kindly “touching her toes” shouting “WIPE MY BUM!” it does nothing for my digestive health. Probs better just to stay a little bit drunk if you can lovely 😉 x

Ha ha ha. This is so true. Mother had a night out with the girls recently. The next day she looked terrible, as if she’d aged ten years. She was weary and teary. Prosecco-regret I think she called it. Still, I’d rather have interesting her than Alpha Mummy any day (I believe motherhood is pretty much fuelled by wine ;)) #chucklemums

Children and a hangover do not mix do they?! When I make this mistake, which isn’t very often nowadays, I swear never to do it again! I also swear that my kids always choose hangover day to become all sorts of naughty.

Had this on Saturday at a wedding – free bar meant I lined up, from one trip, a large glass of red wine, a double G&T, and an entire bottle of prosecco. Nothing a bacon and syrup pancake stack couldn’t solve! Fab doodle as always my dear x

Ha ha you are right Alpha Mummy would never drink to excess (that’s cos she is a prude) Why do they always save up that stupidly stinky poo and insist on getting up an hour earlier than usual? Its like they know…. Thanks for sharing with #PuddingLove
